The confinement of a large part of the world’s population is pushing brands, organizations, and institutions in the fashion world to renew and reinvent themselves, particularly in terms of fashion shows.
The British Fashion Council is initiating these changes by announcing last April the merger of its men’s and women’s fashion shows into a single and unique platform… which will be entirely digital for its first session scheduled for June.
What format for the next Fashion Weeks? How do designers and brands envision the future for presenting their collections? Do parades tend to be open to the public? So many questions that the most prominent institutions in the sector are currently working on, which have been forced to cancel the men’s fashion and haute couture shows initially scheduled for June and July due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The British Fashion Council is now providing the first answer to all these questions with the merger of the men’s and women’s fashion shows and, therefore, the end of London Fashion Week: Men’s. Instead, there will be just one ‘genderless’ platform where designers showcase their collections and brand identity under the London Fashion Week umbrella.
